To provide employers and/or organizations with financial assistance to hire youth for internship work placements. The participants will have the opportunity to gain work experience and employers will be able to orientate a new employee at a reduced cost to their business. Clients are unemployed individuals and have been unable to find work despite their best effort. Employment should provide work that builds on the participant’s present set of skills. Eligible Employers: Have a business in the Lower Mainland (with a valid business license) and have been in business for more than 1 year; and Are willing to provide a completed application form, an orientation plan and work experience (at least 30 hrs./week) for 8 weeks. What if an employer has an internship candidate they would like to hire? No problem. Youth 2 Work can still work for you. Simply submit the appropriate candidate’s information for pre-screening so we can confirm their eligibility. Please Note: contracts must be finalized before commencement of employment.
