Over a three week period the Career Planning Program will provide you with tools and information to make an informed decision regarding your career goals. It will help you create a practical plan to set you in a new direction. The program includes:
- Vocational Assessments
- Career Matching, i.e. which occupations would “fit” you
- Where, and how to find out about occupations you might like
- Current Labour Market Trends, what’s hot, what’s not·
- Education and Training Options·
- Decision Making
- Goal Setting and Action Plan Development
- Resume Development
- Interview Techniques
When? The three-week program is held once a month. The first week is full-time, 9 am–3 pm. This is when you will complete the vocational tests and assessments. In week two you will be spending some of your committed time in the community conducting information interviews and completing other occupational research. The morning sessions, and some one-one assistance from the counselor, will assist you with this important aspect of career exploration.
In the third week you will be able to arrange individual coaching session with your coach/counselor to obtain assistance to address your personal needs in making a career decision, and to assist in developing a realistic, achievable career action plan.
We offer all our clients access to computers, internet, telephones, and photocopying, faxing and clerical services.
